Due to changes in boating law regulations, as of January 1, 2012, any person born after December 31, 1985 who is operating a motorboat, including personal watercraft such as a Jet Ski or Waverunner, must have completed a boating safety course and have proof of completion with them. The minimum age to operate a boat in Nebraska is 14.
The home-study course covers everything from equipment requirements to safe boat operation and accident prevention, and is a great course for both new and experienced boaters. Boat owners who complete the class may qualify for insurance discounts.
The Upper Loup NRD is a testing site. Please call for more information and future testing dates.
